This eatery, located in the El Yunque National Rainforest in Puerto Rico is very sad looking when you arrive. It is basically a pile of aluminum shacks stitched together. Our tour operator assured us that this would be the best food we'd have in Puerto Rico. The line to the ordering window was quite long, which was a good sign. There were many local comfort foods available that were quite cheap. The Pina Coladas were very refreshing and inexpensive. Moreoever they would add more rum if you thought it was weak (it wasn't). The food was so delicious I wanted to order more even though I was stuffed. Through the kitchen window you can see aged women cooking in very old pots, which really thrilled me. This was local cooking at its best. You could eat in the very worn dining area or on a picnic table. If you visit El Yunque this is the place for lunch. I'd even camp and stay for dinner!
