Berlin (Germany) - May 2007
May 10, 2007 – May 11, 2007
Germany's (reunited & reconstructed) capital is one of the most amazing European cities, whose fame lags behind that of other capitals. But this is true mainly for older generations, as youngsters from the 'Old Continent' have been discovering its charm for the past decade or so. * Name anything you want, and you can find it in Berlin! Too bad my visit was only a 'blitz' one. * Less than 30 hours in the city were enough for me to put it on my favourite destinations list.

Sal & Sao Vicente islands (Cape Verde) - June 2006
Jun 21, 2006 – Jun 23, 2006
Amazing archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic, closer to Senegal than to Central America. * Mixture of everything (colonial Portugal, South America, Africa, the Caribbean), placed in what was once a 'green (verde) paradise'. * Of the ten islands, only one is still superbly green, the others resembling a lunar landscape. * Dark volcanic rocks, scarlet sands, golden beaches, dry winds, bearable heat, few tourists - a lovely place to see!

Prague (Czech Republic) - May 2006
May 26, 2006 – May 28, 2006
This is one of the best preserved historical cities of Europe, which I found interesting, but not 'impressive'. * Unfortunately, it is flooded with tourists throughout the warmer months of the year (May to September). This makes visiting the city rather tiresome, especially if you don't have more than three days at your disposal. * Good beer, good public transport, an awful lot to see, and some great high spots from where to take panoramic pictures.
