The Second World War had the unfortunate consequence of bringing about the destruction of the vast majority of the city of Munich. After the war, then, it was entirely rebuilt in the original style. Thus, today, the city gleams with newness while maintaining a quaint style about it. There remains an outdoor market where a variety of pickles, sausages, cheeses, and chocolates can be purchased and enjoyed.
