Best fish and chips in the US and offers a view. Aug 07, 2009
This little family owned restaurant sits on the waterfront boardwalk in Sheboygan, WI.
The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is seasonal. A cute little patio with about 10 tables tucked away from the activity of the boardwalk. Colorful, nautical themed, and a charming respite for lunch. One of the specials offered on the day I visited was fish and chips for $6.95. Beer battered haddock served with coleslaw, homemade tick-cut, seasoned potato chips, and rye bread. Unbelievably tasty, the fish was perfect cook and flaky, not greasy. Th potato chips were, by far, the best I ever had. I can, unfortunately, make a meal just out of those chips! I topped my lunch off with a Wisconsin made beer on tap called, "Spotted Cow." It's a great beer! Cheap, delicious food, very friendly service, humble people, and a great view! The boardwalk area features a fishing "shanty" town along the water that has reused all the old, original fishing buildings and turned them into boutiques, specialty outfitters, and restaurants along the water. The best charter fishing facilities and rentals are just steps in front of you as you enjoy a lunch here. The city of Sheboygan is on Lake Michigan about midpoint between Milwaukee and Green Bay.
