Mt. Pinatubo Reviews

Great weekend to spend hiking at Mt. Pinatubo Apr 13, 2008
If you are the type of person who likes the outdoors and does not mind walking for hours in dusty environment, then going for a day (or overnight) to Mt Pinatubo is a must-do activity.

Information below based on my recent day trip to Mt. Pinatubo using public transportation:

Early Morning: Ride a provincial bus in Cubao, Quezon City
Destination is Capas, Tarlac.
One way fare - aircon bus: Php145/per person
Duration: around 1.5 hours

Arrival in Capas: In Capas, Tarlac (make sure you eat breakfast
first) ride a tricyle going to Sta. Juliana, Capas to
the Pinatubo Spa Resort.
Fare: Php300
Duration: around 40mins

In Sta. Juliana, Capas:
Avail of the package tour at the Pinatubo Spa Resort
which includes the 4 x 4 Jeep with driver and tour
guide
Fee: Php1,500/per person (group of 3 and more)
Fee: Php2,000/per person (group of 2)
(The fee includes one meal)

From Sta Juliana, ride the 4 x 4 Jeep for around 1
hour and will bring you near the site.

There are two options: Hike for "40 mins" or 3
hours. (I took the "40 mins" hike but took me more
than an hour to reach the crater of Mt Pinatubo)
