Mt. Nebo Road, Unita N. Forest Nephi Reviews
Free camping (no services) on Mt. Nebo Road, Nephi, Utah USA Dec 05, 2016
I was looking for a good camping place because the next day I was to pick up Sylvia in Salt Lake City, Utah. She had a motel room but I camp in the Nat. Forests.
On the map I found a through mountain road in the Unita N. Forest, about 60 miles south of Salt Lake City, called the Mt. Nebo Road. This paved road was perfect, running over the tops of Mt. Nebo, then back down to Payson. There was plenty of free camping high and low on the mountain. I chose low cuz it was raining up high. I made a good rib-eye steak and sliced taters for dinner, cooked in my fri-pan with my propane stove. I goofed off for an hour absorbing the moment with the nice large cottonwood trees at my lower elevation in a big canyon. Then I went to bed after washing dishes and a rum drink.
The next morning I had coffee and breakfast and then left for Salt Lake City to get Sylvia to join my camping trip.
