Mountain Torq Via Ferrata Kota Kinabalu Reviews
World's Highest Via Ferrata Aug 07, 2010
At 3776 meters above sea level, the Via Ferrata created by Mountain Torq at Mt. Kinabalu is the highest and Asia's first.
Anyone planning to climb Mt. Kinabalu should include the Via Ferrata as part of their itinerary. It will add more hours on your time spent on the mountain and will definitely add more fatigue and body ache but you will come out of the experience all the more better for it. After all, since you'll be bragging about summitting Kinabalu, might as well add the Via Ferrata as part of your bragging rights.
After summiting Kinabalu, we headed to 7.5k mark where our Mountain Torq guides were to meet us. It was our very first time to do a Via Ferrata and we had dared to choose the Low's Peak Circuit. It was well worth the dare! It was an awesome experience and never did we feel unsafe or uneasy at all. Our guide was very professional and re-assuring. Fear and nervouseness was never a factor as we were just too busy enjoying ourselves. The scenery was spectacular and you get to see the entire surroundings and the mountain itself in a way that not everyone will be able to see.
Yes, it was tiring but that's what it's all about--challenging your body and yourself to keep going and going while at the same time deriving so much pleasure from what you're doing. We did the circuit in 5 hours then rushed back to Pendant Hut for a well-deserved breakfast. On the climb down, we knew that we would someday be back and do it all over again!

Are an adventure freak? Get ready to pump up the adrenaline at Kota Kinabalu with Via Ferrata Jul 14, 2010
Are you an avid climber or novice? Well if you ask me that i'd say i'm just a novice who loves thrilling adventure. Armed with my mountaineering gear i was all set to scale Mount Kinabalu.
It was really a once in a lifetime opportunity to get to experience the UNESCO World Heritage Site with Mountain Torq’s Via Ferrata. So all you hardcore trekkers and the young at heart, this is Asia’s first and highest ever mountain climbing experience solely meant for you. Thrilling? It surely was.
• Bundled with excitement, i and my friends initially felt a tad uneasy. But putting all our anxieties to rest, we were assured of a safe and controlled environment. We were equipped with a proper system of routes, devices and an experienced trainer.
All in all, though i couldn't climb till the end, it was quite a memorable experience for me. I'm sure i'll never get a chance to do something like that and happy i got to experience mountain climbing first hand that too with expert climbers. What an adventure!
