My time in Kelso was great with the trip to Mt St Helens and out along the Columbia River to the ocean. From there I drove north through Seattle and stayed at the Riverbend campground in Mt Vernon, WA. I was very lucky during the three weeks I stayed here because the weather was just perfect. No rain at all. They reminded me that this good weather window only lasts three months a year and the balance can be miserable. Queen of the Valley Bed & Breakfast

We planned on going to see the tulips at the Skagit Co. Tulip Festival in LaConner, WA. However, it was too cold and the tulips hadn't come up yet. So we mostly saw daffodils. It was a three day trip, kind of a spring break get a way (on the cheap) and combination birthday celebration for my sister Kristin. I highly recommend the Queen of the Valley B & B in LaConner. We had a great time and the breakfast was amazing!
