My first trip to the western portion of the United States was a roadtrip my brother and I took to Yellowstone National Park. Being a nature lover, was definitely one of my more memorable vacations.

Driving through the Hills of South Dakota the awaited Black Hills appear and high above suddenly our four Presidents peek out of the trees. The monument itself is impressive and the evening lighting program is a must see; both patriotic and informative. The area also includes a quaint village setting of shops and eateries, museum and sculptures studio. The accommodations at Palmer Gulch KOA,the 2nd largest in the coountry, were super and convenient. Now, on to Deadwood and Sturgis SD.

Family Vacation to South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore. We stopped at Devil's Tower on the way up, and the Chimney Rock area of Nebraska on the way back.
