Moulin Rouge: The CanCan Musical Show Aug 16, 2009
Yes, it is expensive, approximately $150, could have gone higher since I was last there: our price included a dinner but I think you can attend the show only for less. Here in the USA thanks to Hollywood director Lurhman, Moulin Rouge has become a popular attraction in Paris. The release of the blockbuster movie starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor added charm, intrigue and brought to life a history that was considered grim in the earlier centuries. The Cancan musical show is something to see.The location of the Moulin Rouge is the Red light district of Pigalle on 82 Boulevard de Clichy, the Moulin Rouge can be reached by riding on the Metro or using private car or just a walk down from Montmartre. If you are on a limited budget the Moulin Rouge is not for you, you can however admire it from the outside, it is prettier in the night when it is all lit up. The surrounding area is a hive of activities always filled with people.

The world's famous cabaret, stunning, charming, intriguing and extravagant cancan shows! A must-see while in Paris, if you have never been there, add it to your 'bucket list' or top most must see once in a lifetime, it is worth the money, nothing like the Las Vegas shows. Besides the shows and nice dinning, the Moulin Rouge has been a venue for some of the world's great music artists like Liza M., Frank S., Elton J. among others, and the most gorgeous dancers the world ever produced (literally) adorned in magnificent costumes, jewelry and, of course the attraction of near bare skin showing as they entice their crowds both male and female. I must commend the Europeans for the decent sense in applauding when excitment exceeds human containment . . . it is a show itself just watching the crowds as they watch the show, quite simply indescribable.

This show had all that is entertaining, from the beautiful showgirls, beautiful costumes and musical numbers, a comedian, a virgin sacrificed into a vat filled with water and snakes (I'm not kidding, my felt chills in my spine!), acrobats, and a duo who balanced each other with such grace and strength and the whole crowd including peter and I had to stand in ovation to them. The inside still has the old touch and feeling of another place and another time . . .

Highly, highly recommended if you happen upon Paris.
