Motel One München-City-West Munich Reviews
Expensive, unfriendly and unreliable low budget experience Mar 22, 2014
N48°8.362' E11°32.209' It wasn't clear why Motel One is a motel and not a hotel. Taking a closer look, Motel One is a slimmed down low budget hotel version. Space is expensive and here is where Motel One makes a lot of budget cuts. The reception doubles as a bar and breakfast room. In the morning it is extremely busy with guests eating in lobby chairs, on bar chairs and at very small glass tables with poufs. Forget normal dining tables and chairs. On the bright side, the breakfast buffet offers a good continental breakfast, if staff members refill it in time.
Our room 303 in May 2013 was very small. The bathroom too. It’s a bedroom, nothing more. Beside a very good bed, a little table and something to sit on, you have no fridge, coffee of tea maker, ironing board or wardrobe. Life out of your suitcase and only sleep here.
Hospitality is the other area where Motel One makes a lot if budget cuts. Forget personal treatment, too expensive. We requested a two-person duvet. This was confirmed before booking by Motel One, but on arrival not delivered. Reception told they do not supply two-person duvet. When confronted with the confirmation on paper, Motel One wasn't impressed. Just a mistake to confirm something we do not supply. Not our problem.
Including breakfast, we paid the average European hotel room price for this low budget experience. For this price, why not choose a real and reliable hotel, which delivers on its promises
