Motel 6 Twentynine Palms Reviews
cheap motel but comfortable to stay at Feb 17, 2014
We stayed for 2 nights at Motel 6 and spent a total cost of $104.02 without breakfast but there is free coffee every morning. I would say their coffee is not an ordinary one.
The whole room is clean – bathroom, carpet, toilet bowls, etc. You might want to bring your own towels when staying in this hotel because stains are evident even though they smell clean and fresh. Bring your own toiletries too.
We stayed in a double occupancy room with two queen beds. The beds are okay – firm and comfy (no bedbugs)! Pillows are quite bulky though but sheets smelled fresh and clean. AC works fine (yes, we had to turn on the AC even on a month of February). The room is furnished with microwave, a mini-fridge, built in tables, drawers, telephone and a television --an old style but works just fine. We were able to watch some movies on HBO as well. Wi-Fi is available but there is an extra fee of $2.99 for 24 hours connection/use. We did not avail of the paid Wi-Fi so I cannot tell if the connection is fast or weak.
Our room was located at the highest floor--the 3rd floor so we didn’t have to deal with noise steps from rooms above. The entire floor was quiet so the building must have a good sound proof.
There is an outdoor small swimming pool. They also have a laundry facility and snack bending machines located at the ground floor. There is ample parking and what I like is that I can open our van using the remote control key from the door of our room. There is an elevator that runs fast but mostly we took the stairs. Either way was fine. Next door are two restaurants – Pizza Hut and a Mexican Fast Food. Besides these two restaurants, there are more selections in about 2-5 miles away.
The check-in staffs and housekeeping staffs are courteous and kind. The check-in staff allowed us to look at the room first. You have to pay upon checking in.
This is a cheap, budget motel but comfortable to stay at. And most of all, it is only 2 to 3 miles away to the Oasis Visitor Entrance Gate of Joshua Tree National Park.
I recommend this motel for those who are not picky ;-)
