it was cold and beautiful. everyone should visit russia in winter to get to feel a real cold. its so refreshing -20 C. :):):)

As a part of a CS meet up I went to Sergiyev Posad, with this nice young Russian girl, to whom I have to thank for being there to help me avoiding what could have been a big problem, namely getting there!!! Which for those who would like to try it means getting tickets and directions, from people that speak only Russian and with signs and informations only in Cyrillic... if you know what i mean ;-) and on both train stations... also on the way back we have to run a lot to catch an early train...

Just posting a few pictures from the Military Parachting World Championships in Ryazan, RU last summer. Ryazan is about 3 hrs south of Moscow.

After roaming around Moscow's city centre, we went to Sergiyev Posad, a quaint little town outside Moscow. It is famous for the Troitse-Sergiyeva Lavra, one of the biggest monasteries in Russia. Sergiyev Posad is part of the Golden Ring, which is a region that is considered as the cradle of the Russian nation. Churches, monasteries and quaint little towns dot the landscape that is characterised by hills, farms, white-birch forests and ponds.
