Mooloolaba Overview

A popular coastal city, Mooloolaba is situated about 100km north of Brisbane on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Peppered with hotels for those seeking the sunny beaches and a laid back coastal atmosphere, Mooloolaba was firmly put on the map following the opening of its UnderWater World Marine Park. The popular atraction sparked the development of tourist infrastructure, including shopping areas and some excellent restaurants. UnderWater World itself has its own high profile, having featured in the Jacky Chan movie Police Story 4: First Strike and the American TV series The Amazing Race.

Mooloolaba, which is an Aboriginal word for black water snake, has a population of around 11,000 people.
