Montreux Jazz Festival Reviews
Montreux Jazz Festival Jul 04, 2011
"Exceptional concerts, excellent attendance"
The Montreux Jazz Festival is a member of: Top Events of Switzerland, Swiss Music Promoters Association, Yourope the European Festival Association, International Jazz Festivals Organization, member of European Talent Exchange Program.
The best-known music festival in Switzerland, it is held annually in early July in Montreux on the shores of Lake Geneva. It is the second largest annual music festival in the world after Canada's Montreal International Jazz Festival.
It's supposed to be a "Jazz" Festival, but it's not. It's a music festival. Or maybe the festival of all musics. Jazz of course, but not only. Rock, hip-hop, electro, reggae, experimental, blues, and all the styles you may imagine. It's a festival of passion. Passion for music, some say it's quite expensive. Don't believe them: maybe you'll pay less in some other places. At Montreux Jazz Festival, you're so close to the stage that sometimes the singers will spit on you! amazing huh? ;)
And by the way.. Montreux is a really wonderful place, and during the Montreux Jazz Festival there are more free concerts than paying ones. Come to Montreux! At least once in your lifetime... See you there!
