Day 7 - sunnyThis is my last day in Montreal. I was going to meetup with Warren and Nico at 11am and they'll pick me up at the hostel. Ok, I was ready before 11am and waited for them to pick me up. At 11:30am, they aren't here yet. Hmm.. ok, they aren't Japanese so they don't come on time, right. At 12pm, they aren't here YET! Alright, I'm waiting for an hour!!! I couldn't text Nico so I was trying to text Warren. Right before I press 'send' botton, they came!! I wasn't mad or anything ...

My friend had a day off today. We both woke up at like 1 or 2pm. I did some laundry, read a book a little bit and was ready for another sunshine day :) Well, it was a hot day, actually.Went for lunch but this place you can eat breakfast all day so we had 'breakfast'. We were walking on St. Catherine and heard some noise so we went see what was going on. It was African something. They were dancing with loud music. Seems fun though. My friend showed me underground mall and walked around t...

Went up to the Montreal meetup during the July 4th weekend with Matt, Ruthie & my friend Madeline. Had a rough ride up there, but after spending time with some of my favorite people, Mario & Val, it was well worth it.

Flying from Seattle to Montreal, as Lydia and I consider leaving the United States, with its guns, extremist religion and broken social and political systems, I read Rough Crossings, and considered that people have been moving north for a more ideal society since the very creation of the US. Rough Crossings is a book about the US revolution from the perspective of slaves. The abolitionist movement had become extremely strong in the United Kingdom in the years leading up to the revolution (far...

March 26th, 2008. My last entry was back in November 2007.
Things have been busy and all over the place over here but in a good way. At work, new projects keep coming in, allowing me to flex my creative muscle. The variety is the spice of life and its keeps things interesting. I'm happy, living healthier and things are just fantabulous. I wish I could say I am only a few months from my Pond Jump, but unfortunately, I can't.
As time goes on...the more I settle here, the more I learn and exp...

When my 8am alarm went off I found myself already half awake, having tossed and turned for most of the night I don’t think I had one full hour of solid sleep. As per usual the anticipation of an exciting day makes my sleeping pattern go out of whack and in most cases I get very little sleep the night before. As Mario had promised, I received a call from him by 8:15am saying he was on his way and by 9:00am he was outside my hotel. Our first stop was to drop my luggage off at his apartment an...

I woke up feeling much better and headed down for Opus's free continental breakfast with Matt... where I proceeded to eat way too much. The weather was beautiful and the perfect weather for wandering around downtown Montreal and the Jazz Festival. We eventually met up with Nancy, Mario, Val, Debra and Madeline. We continued our walking tour through Old Montreal towards the Pier. Time went by so fast because we had to rush back to the hotel to change for our evening eve...

Haven't been to Montreal since I was a child. For sure a cool city with a nice vibe.
My friend Mario, when he saw I was planning this trip, offered to meet up for a beer. Of course I'm up for that. So I met Mario and Val in the Square Victoria (they recognized me from my profile photo). We decided to take a beer in the Wunderbar before going for some touring together with my workmate Robbie. The Wunderbar was very cool, but it was Tuesday so not many people. Val enjoyed her beer from th...

Well, it's my last full day in Montreal, so I tried to make it count. I decided it was time to tackle the underground city, although it was rumored to be disappointing. For those of you unfamiliar, underneath the hustle and bustle of the outside Montreal world lies a secret passageway of tunnels and dead-ends meant to keep wintering Montrealers warm and tourists forever lost (oh I have evidence that this is the true purpose: the so-called "map" of this pla...
