Montreal, Quebec diverse and lovely Reviews

I went to montreal from September-December 06, and it was amazing. The culture is diverse, the setting gorgeous. That is why I plan to go back this summer! They say there are tons of festivals in the summer and I intend to go to as many as I can, as well as travel the east coast a bit. But yeah. I definately recommend Montreal to those of you who havent been there. ITs good to brush up on some french, just to be polite. The metro is great, an STM pass is essential to get around, and its easy and color coded so you are all set to go the Montrealer BMW route of Bus Metro Walking, which is the way most people get around. People drive crazy so dont expect it to be like western canada where people come to a skreeching hault when you jaywalk across an intersection. They will speed up. Dollar stores are plentiful in montreal, so if you want to stalk up on binder paper or some really cheap gifts for this coming christmas, go for it. They actually have some really nice dollar stores tho, so you could fool that fam if you wanted. The food here is great. not to be stereotypical but the cheese and bakery items, oh and the chocolate which is european imported heaven, are all yum delish. Downtown is cool, the huge underground mall a trip, and well Old montreal in my opinion is even more beautiful than old quebec in quebec city, though that is nice to see too. The autumn is probably the most beautiful time Im told and I experienced it first hand. Lovely. Cold at times, but hey its canada so what do you expect. Hmm, any more questions feel free to ask. Positive Travel Vibes to all who read this, K
