Free outdoor concerts Mar 19, 2011
It's perhaps the best jazz festival in the world.

It will take place June 25th - July 4th, 2011.

A day's concerts typically begins at around noon and ends at midnight around the site.

Only the outdoor concerts are free and there are plenty of them. If you like Jazz then you must attend. I do question some artists who are invited to this event. I guess the Jazz genre is very vague nowadays.

Quartier des Spectacles May 31, 2011
Quartier des Spectacles is where Montreal's jazz festival is located. It is bat by Places Des Arts and cannot be missed with the two large stages. Actually, there are many stages around the area with various shows playing at different times, but it is great during the summer to walk around, grab a drink, and enjoy the show!

Be warned, it does get packed so be prepared to deal with the swarm of people, but besides that, the shows are awesome and free of charge.

Obviously, there are some high profile artists that will charge for shows at specific venues, so check out Montreal jazz festival's website for more details.
