Montreal Inn Cape May Reviews
The hotel with the Red Roof on the beach Jan 09, 2016
I absolutely love staying here when I come to Cape May for a weekend away. The hotel is practically on the beach, just a stroll across the road.
They have a pool to go swimming in to cool off, or you could walk across the non-busy street over to the NJ beach and enjoy the surf and sun.
Once you check in, they give you the pass for the beach to enjoy while you are there. Most of the rooms have a beach view. You enter your room from the back, walk through your bedroom to the living room. Most rooms have balcony's that overlook the pool, and the beach.
The rooms are very clean, top notch. They have wifi, but you'll only get a strong signal if you're in the living room. The couch is comfy and it's a pull out. The rooms have all been updated in the past 2 years.
The bathroom has a large mirror complete with hairdryer and other bathroom amenities. The have Tommy Bahama soap and lotion which. If you don't know, Tommy Bahama has the most amazing scent, but it's very expensive. I use as much of the lotion that I can while there.
The 4th floor rooms have a full service kitchen, so you can make breakfast or lunch while you're there. This place can be as expensive as $350 a night during the peak summer months. Cooking is a great way to save money while there. This hotel tries to accommodate both couples and family.
Next to the pool, they have a restaurant that you get a discount at while staying at the hotel. The lobster mac n' cheese to amazing, and I don't even like lobster. They have a great bar at the restaurant that features NJ local wines, so you can go enjoy food and drinks. This restaurant will also deliver to your room to enjoy dinner on the balcony.
What's great about Cape May is that most of the hotels are within walking distance. If you want to dine at another hotel's restaurant, just make reservations and walk over. The area is VERY SAFE to talk around at night.
Montreal Inn also has a liquor, wine, and general store. They sometimes have tastings, be sure to ask if you stop on by.
You're a 20 minute walk away from where the shopping center is. They have plenty of small business stores from candy to Christmas to olive oil shops to choose from. Make sure to spend a few hours here and walk around.
The price you pay to stay here is worth the comforts and luxury you get here. The hotel staff is friendly and accommodating. The manager has been there forever, and he remembers the guests who keeps coming. He makes sure to say hi to everyone as he walks around and help you with anything you need.
Like I said, this is a come to place when I come to Cape May. I would never consider staying anywhere. And I only come here on off-peak season. Imagine the middle of summer.
