heya, i see your goin to Montpellier!
been there 2 years ago.
Its a real student-city probably cuz it has one of the oldest university in France. Only been there one day. The historic centre with its little shops and musicans is a must see.. In the centrum you will find Place de la Comédie is the main tourist attraction its a Square with Fountains on it, its pretty nice! other things you could visit are
- The cathedral of Saint-Pierre
- The first botanical garden in France
- The St-Clément Aqueduct
- And a triumph Arch (I kinda forgot its name but i think its: Porte de Perou,)

Montpellier is the regional capital of the region Languedoc-Roussillon and the fastest growing town in France (at the Moment 391 162 inhabitants).
With its unique mixe of students from all over the world (43% of the population is under 30 years old) it offers a vivid atmosphere and especially in summer the streets are filled with people sitting in cafés listing to the many musicians.

Its only 10 km to the Mediterranean coast and the transport system is for French circumstances very good and expenses are less than in the posh cities of the Côte d'Azur.

The Peyrou is one of the places to hang out on a Sunday afternoon and usually there is someone playing some instrument ;)

To go out I recommend 'Le Circus' and the 'O'Carolines'.
In Gambetta there is a vegetable and fruits market every morning until noon - a must go: the freshest products for very good prices.
