Montmorency Falls, Quebec Reviews
My trip to Montmorency Falls, Quebec - July 2014 Jul 15, 2014
Montmorency Falls, Quebec, Canada, it’s only 10 - 15 minutes drive from Quebec City center about 13 KM. east on AUT- 440 and eventually marge to RT 138 (easy to find with a GPS). Located between the river and the cliffs, it's one of the province's most spectacular sites. The 275-foot falls on the montmorency River which is higher than even legendary Niagara Falls ( as advertised, 30 meters higher than Niagara), It’s a perfect place to spend a day hiking, exploring, eating out and breathtaking view from the bottom of the fall as well as from the top. The spectacular view of Ile D’Orleans Bridge, known locally as the Pont de I’lle that spans the Saint Lawrence River between the Beauport borough of Quebec City and Ile d’Orleans Island.
When I got there, had to pay $12.00 entrance fee at the gate (par car), and later cable car round trip to get on the top of the cliff was around $11:25 but it worth to spend that much money in exchange of all the fun you are going to get. The view from the cable car is priceless from where you could see the falls as well as the St. Lawrence River. I did not stay overnight but there are wide range of quality hotels just few minutes away from there. If you are heading during the summer weekend then try to get there very early in the morning otherwise it may get over crowded.
