From Austin, Texas I drove to Laredo and boarded a bus to Monterrey. After spending a few days in Monterrey (a bit too richy & industrial for me), I headed south to Real de Catorce. Real de Catorce was an old mining town in the 1700s that was on the verge on becoming a ghost town after the mine dried up. It has since experienced a resurgence in population, now reaching barely 1,200 residents. It's 9,000 ft up in altitude, set in a valley and is absolutely breathtaking!

So I am about to graduate from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA, USA this fall and I decided that I needed to study abroad before I (possibly) enter the real world of... Adults! I am Mexican-American by heritage so of course Mexico was the obvious choice. On of my favorite Professors organized a group study at Monterrey Tec, Monterrey, MX (ITESM) and suggested I attend. Well now I'm here and after 5 weeks of study I am off to explore on my own for five more. How does it go...? LICK, SHOOT, SUCK!
