I spent 5 weeks in Florence with 20 other interior design students from the States. We studied Renaissance art, architecture and the villas around Tuscany. I had the most amazing time!

5 beautiful and small villages near La Spezia in Liguria, Italy.

After resisting the lure of Europe for so long, I finally caved in and bought a RTW ticket for a two month jaunt in September and October 2005.

While attending the Andrews University MSA program at Villa Aurora, Florence, Italy almost all students went on a one day trip to the coast visiting the five villages called Cinque Terra. It is a very nice place where you can hike from village to village or take the train from one village to the next. The "best" village I thought was Vernazza but if you are into the beach, you should go directly to the last village Monterosso.

Put this majestic, history filled country on your must see places to visit....You will not regret it!

Our last stage! With a little bad taste in our mouths from the bottles, we got here. This is, after Riomaggiore, thelargest village en probably the most commercial, but it was a pleasant closure of the day. long, random story why i chose to come here for an extra-long weekend, but was a beautiful trip. corsica's amazing, will be going back, and this time the weather cooperated so i could finally hike the cinque terre. (new to travbuddy, trying things out, might add words to this travel blog later. for now, only pix.)

This is my 3rd time to Cinque Terre (meaning 5 Lands). And each time, it gets more beautiful - if it's possible. There's plenty to do, with hiking the trails to each village, taking the train, swimming (even nude), or exploring the villages and experiencing it all.
