Montecarlo Hotel Rome Reviews
A very nice cozy Hotel Jan 06, 2012
We were there for our Honeymoon , it was a 9 day affair in total with Venice and Paris being our following destinations. We wanted to start good and couldn't have asked for a better one. The guys behind the desk speak good English and very humble. They knew we were there for our honeymoon as i had mentioned it during my booking. Remember , you will have to pay an extra 4 Euro for each night spent ,which is the case with all the hotels in Italy with varying prices . 6 Euros in Venice. . Anyways after all the documentation we were followed to the lift . Haven't seen such a vintage lift ever before and it was maintained very well , was told it was built in 1917. Our room was 405 ( standard twin bed ), was kind of small but it did't look stuffy . Windows overlooking the street . The decor of the room was blue . The room looks exactly the same as shown in their website. Best part of the room was the bathroom which had a Jacuzzi . They room had a fridge , but no mini bar . There was a Bar at the ground floor of the hotel . The rooms had Free Wi-Fi , though during the booking they said they had only wired internet. Breakfast was between 7:30am to 10:00 am . They had a spread of Ham , Breads , Cereals and Scrambled egg . Pretty nice. We didn't have much time with us to do some homework on Rome because of our busy schedule, so we had to take the assistance of the guys at the reception . They gave us a very detailed explanation on the Map and were open to any questions. The Metro station ( Castro Pretorio )was about 500 meters from the Hotel which was very convenient. There was a strip bar "No Limits" just at the corner and an Adult theater opposite to it . The street was very calm and there are a few temporary shops laid up for the day selling fruits, woolen items, small electronic items. Overall , a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it.
