Montbleu Resort Casino and Spa

As a surprise, my husband planned a weekend away to South Lake Tahoe. We stayed at Montbleu, a casino on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. We were more than happy with the hotel and the location. We had a large room with a view of the lake and a huge bathroom, complete with a walk-in shower and jacuzzi bathtub. We were thrilled to find that the hotel lobby, restaurants, and room did not smell of smoke (a complaint we often have when staying at casinos.)
We had dinner at Montbleu's steakhouse: Ciera. Our dinners were delicious and the mojitos were by far the best we've found in the Reno or Tahoe area! We ordered room service for breakfast - it was brought up quickly and was also delicious. I really do recommend the blueberry pancakes.
The location put us right near all of the South Lake activities - other casinos, shopping, and Heavenly ski resort. We received great treatment from everyone at the hotel: checking in, the service at the restaurant and room service, and even at the casino's Starbucks. My husband commented that he was pleased with the booking process, with one call he was able to book the room and make a reservation at the steakhouse.
We stay frequently in the Lake Tahoe area - hiking or mountain biking in the summer, snow skiing/boarding in the winter. Usually we stay in cheaper places, just looking for a clean, safe place to sleep before getting up early to head out for our activities. It was wonderful to stay somewhere more luxurious and spend time relaxing. I hope we will have the occasion to stay there again!
