Montana Hotel London

It looks like there have been some upgrades and changes since I stayed here in 2000.

It was a really happy discovery. It had small, but clean and comfortable rooms, and it was right across the street from the Gloucester Road Subway station, a major hub. At that time, one had their choice of whether you have bathroom "en suite" or shared, and I found sharing a bath was okay--I did not have trouble getting in when I needed it, and everything was kept very clean. They offered complimentary continental breakfast that was very good, but if you want more substantial breakfast, many retaurants in the neighborhood.

There is a Post Office and Phone booth across the street, and at the subway station, there is a restaurant, a Waitrose grocery store with a very good deli, and there is also a drugstore that also has sandwich lunches that are inexpensive and a great deal for day trippers! I booked a week's stay on an online website (they are listed with several, but I think I used ukhotels.com, and got a very excellent rate for being in such a great location--Kensington is loaded with shopping and the Victoria and Albert Museum is a short distance away!
