After having spent a day and 2 nights in Palermo, we left towards Monreale (20 minutes drive), the most impressive church I've ever seen in my life.

Here are some top cities to visit in Northwest Sicily. The photo viewed here is the Cathedral of Palermo or its official name Santa Maria Assunta. Formally a Mosque then converted to a Christian cathedral after the Arabs where defeated by the Norman Count Count Roger I. It is an magnificent structure with an equally magnificient interior.
