Mono Lake Overview

Mono Lake is a salt water lake in the north east of California near Yosemite National park. It's about 8 times as salt as seawater and probably one of the oldest lakes of the world. In 2010 NASA found complete new organisms in the lake. Mono Lake is not a very busy sight probably because of all the national parks in the surroundings which take enough time to see when you're travelling in this area but it's worth to have a look when you are around and there are some visitorcenters and restaurants around the lake. THe most surprising to see are the big salty rocks that rise from the lake, a great place for photographers.
