Claude Monet House Mar 10, 2013
Located 80 km west from Paris in the village of Giverny, 4 km from the town of Vernon, Claude Monet House and Gardens are open to visitors. You can see here the water lily pond, Japanese bridge, Grande Allee, flower garden and more.

Claude Monet's village was also a colony of American painters at the turn of the 20th century. The village and its surroundings have been painted so often by so many impressionist artists that they now belong to the world of those who know it and love it.

A great day visit worth doing from May to September. It takes about one hour and thirty minutes to visit Monet's garden and house. Great colors, landscapes.

If you want to see the inspiration for Monet's lily pads, just go to his house. He had this enormous garden just filled with lily pads. The garden was alright, his house was alright. Not too interesting actually. PS. It helps to sing that "I would walk 500 miles" song before you go, it just gets you charged up.
