Monday's Market Auray Reviews
When the city becomes one big market place Jun 15, 2009
Each monday, the city centre of Auray transforms into one big marketplace. The market starts at the Place de la Republique, and then extends through the entire city centre towards the church. The market starts early in the morning (I am not sure about the time, I haven't been there that early) until 14:00.
The market is a big gathering place for the entire region, and people come from the rural areas to shop and socialise. The market offers excellent foods, offered by regional peasants, vegetables, fish, cheese, meat, wine... as well as anything from T-shirts to knifes, sunglases, or typically Breton handmade artcrafts.
When visitng, you should bring some time along. The market is extremely crowded and at some narrow places along the way, the masses will move you around.
