Life in a monastery Jul 20, 2007
A great hotel, located about fifteen minutes out of the centre. Super-friendly staff who will supply you with a map and information about the local attractions.
My bedroom used to belong to a bishop! All the usual hotel-paraphernalia of TV, coffee etc. The breakfast was amazing. I don't think I've ever seen such an array of cheeses, meets, bread and fruit. It's more like eating inside a delicatessen. The internet room is tiny, I think it might once have been a confessional room. Belgian keyboards have some of the keys (A M W) in unusual places! One tip - make sure you put the mosquito plug in, as there are quite a lot of mosquitoes in the summer - Ghent has a lot of water. Part of the Europe 2007 travel blog |
