Monasterio de San Juan de la Reyes Reviews

Dec 26, 2007
If you're going to even one day in Toledo...you have to come here. Maybe I just have a thing for cloisters, but I just LOVED this one. If I were a nun...I'd totally want to be here. Technically, it's a monestary, but still. It was beautiful! Renaissance architecture, but Gothic. Sweet smells of the orange trees...detailed painted wood work...this place has it all. I could have walked around that courtyard all day (in fact, I almost did). There is also a really great chapel as well with a lovely high altar and some interesting naves. I really don't know what else to say about it aside from the fact that if you go to Toledo...this is part of the experience.
