Ok, so I'm going to be honest about why I ended up traveling to the French Riviera by myself. It was all because of a stupid ex boyfriend... there I've said it. I met this amazing guy a few years ago and our relationship just took off like a bullet. And then it wavered, and then it ended. But right before it ended (took me by surprise), I thought it would be cool to go to the French Riviera together, as we both hadn't been before and were totally into the idea of retiring there. So I'm not sur...

There's plenty to say about Monaco. Even If I visited for the first time during the first week of August I came back several time during the whole semester I spent in France, afterall it was about 1 hour-train-trip away. From all the times I went to Monaco there are four times that I remember the most: The first one is obviously my first time there, there is plenty in Monaco to impress you. We traveled in group and the first you see is the Gare or train station, which is in my ...

Monaco, home of a world famous casino, and expensive cars (oh and a Grand Prix race)
posted by:

So on we went to Monaco. The bus ride in was breathtaking. Overall, the city is pretty small but everything looks expensive. We wandered around until we arrived at the Casino. A few of us went inside. We paid the 10 euro to get into the casino (yes you have to pay to lose money). I couldn't go to the casino and not gamble at least a little bit so I played the slot machines. I would have liked to have played Black jack but we were there when it opened and there was only roulette and some other...

Socca and a daytrip to Monaco
posted by:

Today I was able to get my socca!!!  FINALLY!!!  It only had to happen on my last day in the French Riviera!  So we walked over to Cours Selaya and hoorah, the Queen of Socca,Thérèse, was there!!!  She's just as glamorous as the painting that is hanging in her Chez Thérèse stall, which looks like it was painted in her prime years :)  Thérèse is supposed to make some of the best socca in Nice.  Socca is a chickpea crepe, and you can put olive oil and pepper ...

Nice, France -› Monaco -› ...
In keeping with the fine tradition of visiting as many countries as possible, we made the short hop from Nice to Monaco for the day. It was just a short ride on the train, and the subterranean station in Monaco is worth the trip alone. For some reason we decided to put on our poshest clothes for going to Monaco, which meant that Zoe ended up with really bad blisters from walking in impractical shoes, and had to spend most of the rest of our honeymoon wearing her trainers! I was still hobblin...

My final excursion at High School...it was one of those trips, well prearranged by a tourist agency, where you get to see places if you want it or not, but after all it doesn`t really matter, because you were anyway too drunk that you could remember anything...hm...I think I´ll have to visit Spain one day again! ;) Man, it´s good to have a camera...

One of the smallest countries in the world
posted by:
May 16, 2005 - Aug 03, 2005
I slept in a bit the next morning, and I woke up to no pain due to sunburn.  I was still a very dark color, but the sunburn seemed to be gone...in some 24 hours.  Believe me, it was bright red the day before.  Either way, I took a quick walk to the train station in Nice and caught a 20 minute train to a new country - Monaco. Monaco definitely fits into the Côte d’Azur theme, only on a much more ritzy scale.  Even the train station looked a more upscale than any I had b...

I was fortunate to attend a sales conference in Cannes in April 2008. Amazingly enough, the company booked me in the Hotel Martinez ... yep, the famous hotel where a lot of the celebrities stay for the Cannes film festival. I also took the opportunity of visiting Monaco which is only 1 hour away from Cannes. Hope you enjoy the pics.
