Great concert venue in T.O Jul 09, 2011
I've seen a couple shows at the Molson Amphitheatre and have been very impressed with the sound. If you're like me, you go to a show mostly for the music, not as much for the social experience. So for the people like me, I recommend you get your tickets early, or you'll be hanging way in the back with everyone else on the lawn. The different levels to the amphitheatre are the 100's, 200's, 300's, then lawns 1 and 2. Everywhere except the lawns are seats. I have had the opportunity of being on both the lawn and in the 200's, so i'm able to compare the 2. While there's nothing like being so close to the stage that you see the passion in the musicians every move, i did actually enjoy myself being far away on the lawn. Normally at shows i'm hanging right on to the front gate at the stage (which probably mostly has to do with the fact that i'm 5"0 so I can't see much otherwise), but from the lawn at the amphitheatre you have a spectacular view of the Toronto waterfront skyline, which only gets better as it gets darker outside. If you are fortunate enough to get good weather, it makes for a great experience. On the flip side though, these shows are rain or shine so if you happen to be the unlucky buggers who bought lawn tickets and it rains, then i only have one suggestion for you: take it in stride, rock out in the pouring rain, buy some band gear to change into at the end, and have a wicked freaking time (and i suppose hope that it's not freezing rain - although i'd totally be willing to catch pneumonia for a rock show).

The Molson Amphitheatre for those who don't know is located inside Ontario Place on the waterfront of Toronto. I suggest walking to the venue, it isn't at all out of the way, so there is really no need for you to pay for parking by it unless necessary. Also, the walk along the waterfront to get to it is quite nice.
