Molen De Valk Leiden Reviews
Nice views! Sep 26, 2010
Dating from the eighteenth century, De Valk is a tower mill which dominates the landscape of central Leiden. The site was used for milling corn and today acts as a museum.
Set across seven floors, each of which are accessible to visitors, the mill is a fascinating place to go through. You get a real sense of the people that might have lived there, as well as the work that was involved and what their tools were.
If you head to the top floor onto the roof, you do get a good overview of Leiden. Hopefully the skies are a lot bluer for your visit, but seeing everything is still pretty cool whatever the weather.
If you are in Leiden, this place is one of the top sites and definitely worth a quick visit.
