We were expecting to wander around Chisinau today, the capital of Moldova. While an old city, founded in 1436, it is very modern, having been completely flattened in 1940-1941 with the invasion of the Red Army (28th June 1940), who were then defeated after a long siege by the Nazis (17th July 1941), with a major earthquake hitting in-between (10th November 1940). The following account is TRUE - While I did leave out tidbits of Info it is still my TRIP TO MOLDOVA!!!!  DA DA DA DAAAAAAA!!!- f.y.i. My brother is Tim, My new sister in law is Natasha. Tim married a Moldovian and the account begins on Saturday starting from Chicago plane trip into Chisinau, Moldova -- It's long!!!! have fun reading it!!!!!!The Airplane over:Lufthansa ... is a REALLY nice service... seats however sucked. I don't know how big that plane was but i was not comfortable...

Visiting Moldavia was an interesting experience for me, the country is in the proces of developing and lets hope it will bring up more interesting atractions in the future. The nicest experiences were while I visited some of the villages around Chisinau.

I finally procure a train ticket to Kishinev from someone who knows what they are doing.  On the train I meet a man who is traveling home to Kishinev.  He invites me over to meet his family.  One floor of his house is still under construction and he boasts that he's building it himself.  I can tell.  One of the walls is slightly askew and many of the morter joints look like they might give.  Neverthess, I can't help but be impressed by the effort.  ...
