Luxury resort by the Dead Sea Aug 24, 2011
The gold standard amongst resorts in the Dead Sea (in Jordan). The resort has multiple pools and restaurants and private access to the beach. Also present is the Zara Spa where you can indulge and pamper yourself. The Spa offers a variety of treatments. In addition you can always pay a fee and just use the different pools/jacuzzi/ sauna within the Spa.

All of this comes at a price though. During off season sometimes the hotel comes with specials. I was able to get a regular room for 99 JOD per night. You can also save a little money by selecting a mountain view room instead of a sea view.

The resort is quiet close to Amman so a day trip is always possible as well. The hotel has a special deal where you for a small fees you can use their facilities.

Affordable resort at the Dead Sea. Apr 29, 2011
I went with my family (5 members) and got 2 nice rooms connected. The room furniture is nice and the bed is clean and conformable. The bathroom are clean too. We really enjoyed the resort swimming pool and beach area facilities. The shops are nice too but expensive. The food is good. Room service is slow and we waited long at the reception during check in time.

Luxury at the lowest point on Earth Jul 25, 2008
Whilst I can't speak to the actual accommodations at the Mövenpick Dead Sea Resort, as I only spent the day there and didn't see the inside of any of the suites, I can say that this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. It is, hands down, the most luxurious of the resorts on the Jordanian side of the Dead Sea, and features the fantastic Zara spa, as well as multiple outdoor pools and private access down to the beach on the Dead Sea.

The hotel also features a bar, which is one of the only ones at the Dead Sea. The outdoor patio near one of the pools, overlooking the Sea, has several cabana-style tents which are perfect for escaping the sweltering heat.

The resort has multiple restaurants and an ice cream bar, which was very exciting for us. Daily, there is a themed buffet in the Al Saraya dining room, and guests can find anything from sushi to Italian to Chinese food in the many restaurants.

The resort is, unfortunately, very expensive. If you are spending any period of time in Amman, however, a day trip to the Dead Sea is definitely in order, and can be reached from Amman via taxi in about 30 minutes. Even a day trip will cost you, and set you back over $50 - but that gives you unlimited access to the pools and the beach, as well as a voucher for the buffet meal and a discount on spa treatments. Overall, I'd say it's definitely worth it!
