Great stock up place Apr 12, 2011
As this market has been serving the population of Modena since the 1930s, it must be doing something right! The covered market in Modena is a perfect pit stop for food shopping and must be visited if you are in town. It’s not far from the city’s main tourist sights. Covered up, the market is every day of the week from early in the morning till early afternoon. There are many stalls here, selling a good variety of fruit, vegetables, other fresh produce, fish, picnic and deli items (such as salads, pasta and olives). The quality is excellent and the value for money is very good too. You can buy things such as Parma ham and balsamic vinegar, which are famous within the region, from here too for a good price. With such a range, there is something here that will cater for all budgets and tastes. This is a great place to stop off while doing your food shopping in Modena and I would recommend coming here at least once!
