Another great morning and we are under a fog advisory. We are taking I-10 west to Mobile, Alabama to visit Battleship Memorial Park. It's about an hour drive and it's open from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
The USS battleship Alabama was commissioned August 16, 1942. It is 680 feet in length and a width of 108 feet 2 inches. I decided to take a cross country road trip to gatlinburg tenn. on the way I stopped at friends places and expanded my road trip after the original cabin trip in gatlinburg, I head east to North Carolina to the outer banks, up north to MD to N.Y. withsights in between. after I left New York, I went thru PA to Ohio and spent a week there and had Tday with some friends. Had to take a packed bus from pensacola to Mobile Alabama, Slept on the floor of the airport in order to get home for the holidays!

Battleship Memorial Park was a wicked cool place to kill a few hours and that is exactly what we did. You come down the drivway and there are planes and tanks and planes. Once you park and go into the little visitors center and gift shop you buy your ticket wich is like 12 dollars for an adult wich isnt bad and then you step out the back door and head on over to the main attraction The USS Alabama. The ship has been used in the TV show Unsolved Mysteries and the movie Under ...

We took a Cruise on Carnival Holiday that left from Mobile, Alabama and visited Progreso and Cozumel. We took a shore excursion in Progreso to see Mayan ruins at Dzibilchaltun and then went to Playa Mia Beach in Cozumel.

These are some pictures from my annual trip out to Destin with my Dad and cousins. This year we saw the destuction left by the hurricane. We started seeing it as far out as Alabama. We still managed to catch some fish and have a great time.

So after doing nothing in Savanah we started driving again and made it to Jacksonville Florida where we thought of going a little further south to Daytona for the possiblity of bike week but decided not to in the end it was the time limit thing. We jumped on I-10 and proceded west making only one small detour to visit a Hard Rock Cafe in Destin Fla.
