This cathedral is an experience not to miss out on if you're ever traveling in the Black Forest. The acustics in the cathedral are outstanding. If there is a concert, take up the oppertunity to hear the wonderous beauty. It is under construction so there may be scaffolding, but don't let that detract from what the cathedral has to offer. in the niches along the sides, don't miss the life-sized wood carving of the last supper, or the tomb of Jesus. In the rear of the church, there are metal plates with raised images of the church that were meant for the blind to feel what the church would look like. The floor is covered with tombs of previous bishops, and the stained glass is steadily being cleaned up properly. You enter the church on the right side, but if you go toward the front, there further up along the right side is the entrance to the tower. Be warned, it's over 300 steps to get to the viewing platform, and it costs E1 to get in. You can climb up to the bell carillion, but I suggest not doing so when the bells will ring. even when marking the quarter hour, they are ear splitting. You can take pictures in the church, and the viewing platform has beautiful views so bring your camera!
