Imagine yourself in one of the most romantic spots in Japan. For me this was Miyajima after sunset. All of the tourists left the island at 5pm (1700h) latest, even when the latest ferry is departing way after 10pm (2200h). We didn't complain about it.When we arrived in Hiroshima, the sun started to …

I really am not able to say much about Miyajima simply because this part of the trip Andrea and I did a crappy job of planning. We spent way too much time in Hiroshima and at the same time not enough time there. Because we were at Hiroshima longer than planned we were unable to spend more than a ha…

This was a very busy day. We woke up and Tomoko's dad drove us for about an hour to Miyajima. When we got there we took the ferry to the city. We walked around Miyajima for a while. Spent my last morning in Hiroshima visiting Miyajima, famous for its red torii which floats on the water in front of Itsukushima Shrine. This trip was totally out of the blue, whilst on my Working Holiday Visa in New Zealand, I needed to get away from windy Wellington so I chose this strange combination.
I was spoilt with beautiful deserted Motu in the South Pacific and amazed at the Japanese culture, its a Country like no other I've ever witnessed, a place I fell in love with and hope to return very soon.
