Mittagong is a small town south of Sydney with an amazing country atmosphere. The town itself lies on a plateau at the foot of Mt. Gibraltar, Mt. Jellore, and a chain of mountains across the southern Highlands.
Mittagong has numerous art galleries, antique, art and craft stores.
There are regular festivals held in the area where similar items can be found (village market held each month).
Accommodation is quaint B&B style all of reasonable prices. Mittagong is the perfect area to experience nature and wildlife first hand

  If anyone wants to go for camping, this is a great place to go. It is a pet friendly place. But absolutly, camp site only,,no cabin provided, You can drive your caravan if you have. It takes 2 1/2 hrs from sydney to South on M5. Get off from Mittagong, drive 45 km on wombyan cave road to west. It is only 15 km on wombyan cave Road from Blue Mt. direction. Fishing, MB, camp fire, bush walking.  $9/ night Pets are free.... If anyone needs more inform...
