Small and cheap Apr 08, 2008
I haven't stayed in any other hotels in Kyoto, so I have nothing in Kyoto to compare this to. However, if I compare this to other hotels that I have stayed in anywhere else in the world, then I can say that this hotel probably had the smallest room and bathroom I have ever seen.
I know that space is at a premium in Japan, and that the rooms are necessarily tiny, but our room was literally so small that there wasn't any room on the floor to set our bags down. The bathroom literally almost as small as a bathroom you would find in an airplane. The room was smaller than any room on a decent cruise ship. Our view was of a multi-story parking lot. If you're just here to sleep and explore Kyoto, then this hotel may offer good value (it is cheap). There is free internet in the lobby. The staff doesn't seem terribly helpful. If you want to spend any time relaxing in your room, or are claustrophobic, I would suggest looking elsewhere! Part of the Japan 2008 travel blog |
