Rabbi Akiva 18, Tel Aviv, Israel
Mitbachon Tel Aviv Reviews
A place that used to be a great one Mar 23, 2012
Just few steps from noisy Allenby street, this simple but cosy restaurant is worth of paying a visit, if you find yourself somewhere in the vicinity HaCarmel market. Its name means 'small kitchen' and it offers a range of homemade-like of different origin - all prepared with lots of love.
It equally caters to both meat lovers and vegetarians: just try their liver pate, mujaddara, meat balls, couscous (both with or without meat) or goulash. Many locals are coming there especially on Saturday for a substantial portion of hamin - the traditional stew (with beans, potatoes, grains and meat) simmered overnight.
Staff is extremely friendly and they always will provide you with the English menu.
Update February 2012: Something wrong has happened to this place - bad management or they just have replaced the chef... It can't be recommended any longer.
