I managed to go on vacation for July 4th while I was in Yellowstone. A couple of the friends and I went to a buddy's house, 4 hours away in Mezula, Montana. I could not believe I had come to the point where Mezula was a bustling city to me, but somehow Daniel, the city boy, had come to think that this tiny town was civilization.

We stayed in Missoula, Montana after making it through the mountains. Jim had stayed in Missoula before and it was a nice little liberal college town in the middle of the mountains and a great first stop on the way back from the west coast.
