Mission Bay Overview

Mission Bay is a suburb of Auckland on the North Island of New Zealand. It lies to the east of central Auckland and is mostly all residential property. However the northern area of this suburb is coastal and so the entire waterfront area known as the Promenade is entirely made up of restaurants, cafes and ice-cream shops to cater for the crowds that flock to the beach when the weather is warm and sunny. It's a fantastic area to spend an afternoon in the sun. This waterfront is home to the Trevor Moss Davis Memorial Fountain which sits in the grassy picnic area in front of the stores just before the sandy beach.

In the southern-most region of this suburb is the Eastgate Shopping Mall. More of a convenient area for the locals to do some shopping, rent a movie, buy some flowers and visit the pharmacy than anything else. It does have a small bar outside the front of the mall but it's nothing worth checking out unless the weather is off and you're desperate for a quick drink.
