Located on the island of Borneo in the Malaysian state of Sarawak. Miri is what some of us call a 'gateway" city which is in fact the second largest city in Sarawak. It is also the Oil City seeing the birth of petroleum in Malaysia and Sarawak with it's building of the first 'Grand Old Lady' (now a state monument).
It is the gateway to the famous Gunung Mulu National Park and Niah caves for all you nature enthusiast. It is also a short drive into Brunei and is linked by the Pan Borneo Highway that allow access to the other cities in Sarawak.
Miri have alot of KTVs, pubs and bars, open till 2 to 3 A.M. morning. You can have cheap beers, cigarettes and seafood in resonnable prices in Miri. At Weekend, most of people from Brunei corss the border and enjoy in Miri.
