Great place to stay...centrally located May 22, 2008

Overall, staying at Mirage was a great experience. The main reason we booked this hotel was because we heard they had a great pool with a slide (after we arrived, we found out they no longer have a slide). Unfortunately, the weather was hot during the weeks BEFORE and AFTER our trip, but the weekend we were there, the weather did not cooperate. It rained two (out of the four) days we were in Vegas, so we were only able to enjoy the pool two days.

As far as food goes, Mirage has a good selection. We ate a late breakfast (fries and eggs) one morning and most other mornings had coffee/tea and muffins from the cafe near the pool entrance. We did not get a chance to eat at FIN (chinese/asian food), Cravings buffet, or California Pizza Kitchen but it was nice to know there were so many choices.

We did not visit the REVOLUTION club (although it always looked lively when we walked by), and it almost always had 70s-dressed dancers hanging around outside it (for posing for pictures, etc).

The volcano was under construction (with a sign that said it would be reopened in late 2008) and the hotel was going through some remodeling (improving decor in the rooms) while we were there.

The best part about Mirage was its location. We found it easy to go whereever we needed to be. There is a 1/2 price ticket box office at the Fashion Show Mall (just on the other side of TI) and tons of shopping (The Forum at Caesars, Venetian, Wynn, etc) nearby. The only time we found its location to be a problem was when we had to get all the way down to Luxor for an evening show but even then it only took us about an hour to walk.
