Mine Museum Reviews

paying USD$1, we were treated with a wide range of defused mines and ordinance. there, posters and banners on the harmful effects and history of mines were put up to educate on the effects of landmines. in the front yard is a small mock up of unexploded ordinance (defused in the set up) left lying about which one should report to the authority if he sees them. set up and created by Akira, this exhibition aims to teach and inform the people about defusing landmine and bombs left over from the past. very educational and depressing at the same time, it left quite an impact on the effects of using landmines.

We stopped on the way at the Cambodian land mine museum, which was a startling reminder of the impact landmines still have on the country. The museum's founder has personally removed tens of thousands of mines from the land, but over 3 million still remain. Every year hundereds are injured or killed… Angkor Wat??? By John. |

Last stop for the time been was the Mine Museum, which had a more recent history. The small outdoor area gave information on the horrors of land mines that the Khmer Rouge had placed all over Cambodia and are still prevelent in todays countryside. It was quite sad to see some of the pictures… Angkor Temples - Further a field |
