Minakami Vacation Guide
A beautiful old town set in the mountains in the north of Gunma. Surrounded by greenery, it is the ideal city escape.
Minakami is an onsen town, and hot springs are dotted all over the place.
The river and nearby canyons make Minakami a popular adventure sport destination. It is also home to the only Bridge bungy location in Japan.
The Soba, or buckwheat noodles are the local specialty, and in summer nothing quite quenches your heat like a coffee soft-cream.
The town station is visited by a steam train several times a day, and a replica of the steam whistle is mounted on the side of the station. A fact you will no doubt hear soon enough.
